On one occasion in the recent past, I checked the on-line bulletin, frustratingly saw that it was still the one of the previous week, but my brother and I nevertheless drove our elderly mother to a Mass that was supposed to be scheduled for the second anniversary of our uncle's passing. To our immense disappointment, however, his name was not printed in the bulletin as we expected even though we had made our $15.00 donation beforehand. A clerical error, we were later told, and the Mass was rescheduled to more than one month after the anniversary of his passing. Something like this also happened a few years ago with our father's passing anniversary Mass. This is just one of the reasons why I check the on-line bulletin beforehand to confirm when a Mass is being said.
Thanks again for your help and support and help and advice and guidance your the best Church I've been trying to find God bless you Robert Haller and family and friends and colleagues and Oreo November 15:2017
Finally, a few weeks ago, I was checking the on-line bulletin for when the Mass was to be said for the tenth anniversary of our father's passing would be said this month, and the secretary/receptionist at the parish office told me that a company (not an individual) now updates the bulletin. She then pointed out that the office has no control over it and assured me that it would be updated on the Saturday (which is when the new bulletin comes out). Well, it was updated on that Saturday, but today (Sunday) the bulletin that came out yesterday was again not updated.
It's my guess that the person or company in charge of updating the bulletin weekly doesn't see any importance of following through with their responsibility, simply continues to update it every other week, and they don't seem inclined to change this anytime soon. My question is: Why have an on-line weekly bulletin if it is not updated every week?
It has been nearly ten years that I have occasionally been going to the Saint Vincent De Paul Church web site to read the on-line version of their Sunday Bulletin to check when a Mass is being said in a deceased loved one's name, or to confirm the date when a Mass is in fact being said, and 50% of the time their bulletin is outdated. I call the parish office, and they always (sometimes sighing) tell me that they'll inform the person who is in charge of updating it every week, but the one charged with this task still willfully neglects this responsibility and does it every other week. Telling the pastor about it a few years ago didn't change anything either even though he also told the person in charge.
